DIY Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program
DIY Home Performance with ENERGY STAR is designed to help Vermonters make energy efficiency home improvements by themselves, under the guidance of a participating Home Performance with ENERGY STAR contractor. Through this program, you'll have access to the tools and technology needed to complete energy efficiency home improvements and qualify for up to $2,500 to help you pay for the work.
If you are able to invest your own time, skills and resources in your home and are interested in working under the guidance of a participating contractor certified by the Building Performance Institute, DIY Home Performance with ENERGY STAR may be a great option for you.
However, this may not be for every Vermonter. Unless you are experienced with DIY projects or have attended a Weatherization Skillshop, we recommend that you use a participating Home Performance with ENERGY STAR contractor to complete your energy efficiency home improvements.
Benefits of the DIY Program:
- Learn about how to save money on your energy bills while making your home more comfortable and energy efficient.
- Participate in a Weatherization Skillshop training. (Highly recommended and encouraged but not required)
- Expert guidance from an experienced, certified Home Performance with ENERGY STAR contractor.
- Up to $2,500 in incentives from Efficiency Vermont upon successful completion of your energy efficiency home improvements. Additional Federal tax credits may be available.
