The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded the Northeast Retail Products Initiative a 2012 ENERGY STAR® Sustained Excellence Award in recognition of its long-term commitment to energy efficiency. The initiative is made up of several utilities and efficiency program administrators, including Efficiency Vermont.

The passive home demonstration project, located in Charlotte, is the first of its kind in the United States. The efficiency features of the homes should help ensure they remain affordable in the long-term by significantly reducing energy costs.
